Oilers too Slick
The Oilers drew first blood in the Western Conference Finals with Michael Peca showing no weary edge in slowing down and scoring the first goal. The Ducks traded goals in the first period, but soon after Ales Hemsky in the second put Edmonton ahead 2-1. Finally, in third period Todd Harvey finishes the game off with 42 seconds left and makes a clean score 3-1 for the Oilers. These Ducklings will look to get even as they migrate to Anaheim. It’s to bad it’s hunting season.

“Who would have thought back on April 13 when a late goal by Ales Hemsky versus the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim launched the Edmonton Oilers into the 2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs? That just over a month later the same two teams Edmonton and Anaheim would be battling it out for the Western Conference Championship? As improbable as it may have seemed, here we are with the Edmonton Oilers only four wins away from a spot in the Stanley Cup Final.” – Criag MacTavish - Head Coach
