Feel Alive
Rock, Paper, Scissors has gone professional. In an age when organized dodgeball tournaments have become commonplace and curling is an Olympic sport, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a game known nearly universally in schoolyards around the world has caught on. So, what’s it doing in Eston?

What do you get when you mix Five Alive, rock, paper, scissors, and $60? You get a bet, and a very good one at that. It starts when one asks another a simple question “what are the five fruits in Five Alive?” and bets $30. But the other replies incorrectly, and watches their money fly away. Now you may ask yourself “can this go any further?”...Yes

In this corner weighing in at 181 lbs. a height of 6’1, with already $30 in his pocket, we have the Fluffinator, a.k.a. Johnny Meyer. And in the other corner weighing in at 170 lbs. a height of 5’8, fighting for the money he so brutally lost earlier, none other than Darren Oliphant. The lights dimmed, the competitors both take their seats and once more wonder what hand to play. But as fast as you can say holy thunder, the competitors strike and the match is over as Johnny Meyer take’s it with paper. With a final score of 1-0, Johnny wins with a total of $60, and Darren leaves a lot lighter. Next time find out which one will swallow 4L of shower water without spewing.
