| Almost Home |
The tides have turned. Just when you think it’s done, it isn’t. Highlights: A shorthanded goal on Wednesday by Fernando Pisani early in the first overtime denied the Carolina Hurricanes their first opportunity to win the Stanley Cup. The Oilers won 4-3 and the series now returns to Edmonton.
Goals by Fernando Pisani, Raffi Torres, Ryan Smyth and Shawn Horcoff and 16 saves by Jussi Markkanen powered the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-0 shutout victory over the Carolina Hurricanes at Rexall Place on Saturday night. The series is tied 3-3. With the win, the Oilers have guaranteed that there will be a seventh and deciding game in the Stanley Cup Final in Raleigh on Monday. One thing is certain – the cup will be claimed. 6pm. |
